PORTSMOUTH — Adam Conheeny scored four 3-pointers in the final two and a half minutes of regulation — including one that tied the contest with less than a minute left — to help Portsmouth overcome Narragansett in a thrilling overtime win Thursday in the preliminary round of the Division I playoffs.
The 64-60 victory in the PHS field house advanced the No. 7-seeded Patriots to the quarterfinals on Tuesday, when they’ll face the No. 2 seed, Barrington, on the road. That game begins at 7:45 p.m.
The winner of Tuesday’s game goes on to the semifinals March 3 at the Murray Center at Rhode Island College.
Thursday’s game was tied 22-22 at halftime, and the Patriots were behind 55-52 with less than a minute to play in regulation before a 3-pointer by Conheeny forced overtime.
